Introduction to Multifoil Insulation Triso Super 10, Triso Sols, Alumaflex and Superquilt are multi layered foil insulation products ideal for insulating roofs, attics, walls and floors.

Triso Super 10, Alumaflex and Superquilt at 25-30mm provides the same thermal performance as using in excess of 200mm of traditional material and is effective both in summer and winter months. It is made up of 8 foam layers with 6 reflective internal films and 2 reflective external films Triso Sols For use under hot water underfloor heating systems and below screeds in standard floors. Easily laid, eliminating thermal bridging and reflecting heat back into the room. A squared grid on the face facilitates the easy laying of underfloor heating pipes and at 7mm thick is ideal for use in renovations where maximising headroom is a major factor. It is made up of 6 foam layers with 4 reflective internal films and 2 metallic external films. i am currently converting a loft space into living accomodation and would like some advice from the experts (not a halfwitted building inspector)on loft insulation which complies to the current building regs. my preference wouldbe to use a tri-iso type material as this seems to be the easiest and quickest material to use if it meets building regs.
over half of the roof we have traditional slating felt and the other half breathable membrane. would this cause any problems ventilation wise?
I wish to use a multi foil insulation material when repairing my roof. My local Building Control inspectorate at Bristol City Council are not satisfied with this and will refuse me certification to the latest standards. They wish me to use much thicker mineral wool instead which will raise the roof line and so look odd against my adjacent neighbour’s house. Can you help me get past Bristol Building Control with some third party accreditation?
